International News: Amid the intensifying Iran-Israel conflict in the Middle East, U.S. President Donald Trump made a dramatic claim today. He stated that the 12-day-long war is now over, and both nations have agreed to a ceasefire. According to Trump, Iran and Israel personally approached him, requesting peace, and he acted as a mediator to facilitate the agreement.

Trump made this announcement on his social media platform, ‘Truth Social,’ writing, “Both Iran and Israel came to me and said—PEACE! I knew the time had come. This is a victory not just for these two countries, but for the entire world.” He further claimed that the ceasefire would take effect within six hours: Iran would lay down arms for the first 12 hours, followed by Israel for the next 12 hours.

Tehran Issues Strong Denial

Shortly after Trump’s statement, Iran responded sharply. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi categorically denied the existence of any formal ceasefire agreement with Israel. He stated, “If Israel stops its attacks, Iran will also cease retaliation. But as of now, no official agreement has been made.”

The Iranian government dismissed Trump's claim as political propaganda, accusing him of portraying a false image of peace while military operations and missile attacks continue in the region.

US Base in Qatar Also Targeted

Adding to the tension, Iran recently claimed it had launched a missile attack on a U.S. military base in Qatar. According to Tehran, this was a retaliatory strike in response to Israeli airstrikes, which reportedly had U.S. support. However, the Qatari government later clarified that its air defense system intercepted the missiles mid-air, and no damage or casualties were reported. It was also revealed that Iran had issued a warning before the strike.

Not Trump's First Mediation Claim

This is not the first instance where Trump has asserted his role in international diplomacy. During the India-Pakistan border standoff in 2020, he had similarly claimed that his intervention led to a ceasefire. However, India firmly rejected his statement, clarifying that the agreement was the result of direct military-level talks between the two nations, with no U.S. involvement.

Trump’s latest statement has added a new twist to the Iran-Israel conflict. While his supporters hail it as a diplomatic breakthrough, political analysts remain skeptical. Without official confirmation from both Iran and Israel, experts consider this announcement more political theater than peacekeeping. All eyes are now on the next 24 hours, which will determine whether this is the dawn of de-escalation or just another wave of political noise.
